March 2021: American Corporate Partners & The Mission Continues

In this session, Sidney Goodfriend, Founder & Chairman of American Corporate Partners (ACP) shared the history and mission of ACP. ACP’s free Mentoring Program connects post-9/11 veterans, active duty spouses and eligible military spouses with corporate professionals (Mentors) for customized mentorships. ACP assists veterans and eligible spouses on their path towards fulfilling, long-term careers, whether the veteran is job searching or newly employed. Sidney shared key stats on veterans with the group while highlighting success stories. ACP has grown tremendously since being established in 2008 while partnering with many CVNY member orgs including MLB, Disney and AIG.

Meredith Darche, The Mission Continues (TMC) Senior Director of Development and Board Liaison presented on The Mission Continues’ vision for all veterans with a desire to continue their service to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. TMC is creating a movement that empowers veterans to continue their service, and empowers communities with veteran talent, skills and preparedness to generate visible impact. The Mission Continues connects veterans with under-resourced communities. Programs deploy veteran volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more. Meredith also spoke to the TMC extended campaign in 2021 that honors; the solemnity of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, recognizes the service and sacrifice of the all-volunteer force that served in the wake of that day, and kicks off the next 20 years of a veteran-led movement of continued service to our country.
