Marsh & McLennan Companies

Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) is a global professional services firm offering clients advice and solutions in the areas of risk, strategy, and people. The goal of our Corporate Social Responsibility department is to strengthen colleague engagement, advance the company’s reputation, provide opportunities for client development, and support our communities. We focus our efforts on mentoring and disaster resiliency to strengthen our communities through volunteer programs and nonprofit partnerships. In 2018, 20% of MMC colleagues volunteered nearly 220,000 hours across 54 countries. MMC has several programs that drive colleague participation and engagement including: Global Volunteer Month, where colleagues around the world volunteer during the month of May; our Volunteer Recognition Program, in which we recognize individuals and countries for their volunteer efforts; and our Paid Day Off To Volunteer, where colleagues can spend one paid work day off volunteering with a non-profit organization.

Marsh & McLennan partners with select non-profits and charitable organizations that align with our businesses and colleagues’ talents. Since 2016, more than 2000 MMC colleagues have volunteered with Junior Achievement, mentoring more than 12,000 students in financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. Our colleagues virtually mentor women entrepreneurs through The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, providing them with the resources and guidance they need to become successful small business owners. Through our newest partnership with Missing Maps, colleagues virtually volunteer to create maps of currently unmapped parts of the world, later used by local and international NGOs to better respond to crises in these areas.
